BioBiography She died very young and winded up in a world where souls live. Yachiru lives in one of the poorest, dirtiest and most cruel place of Rukongai in Soul Society. In the North of Rukongai, the 79th district. There, killing is normal and frequent, seeing blood is ordinary. Almost everyone in the 79th district lives like animals. During one of the bloody murders, Yachiru's parents were killed, the pink-haired infant surprisingly never cried for she witnessed these things so many times already. On the same day, Kenpachi finds her after the killings (saving her, in another sense), Yachiru crawls over to him and touches the blood on his zanpakutou and actually smiles at the sight of it. That day, she meets him, and Kenpachi gives her her name - Yachiru. From that point on, she follows him and gradually becomes a good companion for Kenpachi. One day, he kills the former Captain of the 11th Division, the combat division. Thus, by rule, he becomes the next captain, following that, Yachiru becomes the lieutenant of the 11th Division. She greatly enjoys being together with Kenpachi and she also meets other Since Yachiru is part of the 11th Division, when the ryoka (Ichigo's group to save Rukia), this division becomes very active in stopping the ryoka's invasion. Always with Kenpachi, they try to find Ichigo (though failed many times...). Yachiru watches the fight between the two, and carries the captain back after his failure. However, she isn't mad at Ichigo because Kenpachi is happy since he met someone so strong. In fact, Yachiru is also glad for the same reason. As time grows on, she meets Makizou Aramaki, whom she calls Maki-Maki, and at the same time, she meets Orihime. Having no interest in the ryoka's pursuit to save Rukia, she is rather very interested in knowing where Ichigo is. Orihime and Yachiru become rather good buddies (while making fun of Orihime's big breasts... Lol) and actually let her share Ken-chan's back with her. Together with the crew (Kenpachi, Ikkaku(?) and Yumichika(?)), they rescue Ganju, Sado and Ishida from the cell. Then... I'm having Yachiru pulled into Memento Eden after the Seireitei arc. |
Personality She is just like a child, very cheerful and energetic. Yachiru's also carefree at most of the times. She likes latching onto Kenpachi's back on his right shoulder - her signature spot. While a very carefree person, she does not enjoy being criticized. She'll often attack the perpetrator too. That is another reason why Yachiru is very child-like. This girl has no sense of direction whatsoever either, even though she likes pointing out directions to people and often seen leading Kenpachi (that said, no wonder they can't find Ichigo after a long time. Two wrongs don't make a right). Also, if she sees a baldy and knows him or her very well, it is very likely she will attack the head without warning by drooling and sucking on the bald head. Such instance can be always seen when she greets Ikkaku. Still though, Yachiru can be very intimidating. When she is angry, she is capable of emitting a large amount of spiritual power in a form of pink scary cat face. Also, Yachiru is quite strong, after all, she is the lieutenant of the combat division and has earned the respect from the division. One instance where she carries Kenpachi (when he is unconscious) back to their place from the battle field, jumping from building to building shows her strength. In addition, when Ichigo and Yachiru first meets, she jumps on his shoulder and later Ichigo remarks how he didn't even sense she was there at all. A fun fact about Yachiru is that she loves to make up nicknames for other people and often stick to those. If she couldn't remember the previous nickname, she'll immediately makes up anther one. This habit plays on anyone, despite who the other person is, which shows Yachiru really has no special respect for superiors. She always calls Kenpachi "Ken-chan". |
